I tried to solve
"When I try to play movies or series from iptv provider, it says “this client is not compatible with the media, and the server isn’t sending a compatible media format”. I’ve had this issue with EVERY iptv vendor?
Trying to watch the live tv channels gives this error:
“playing failed due to fatal error”
To add a bit more, in transcode log it says error number -138 occurred"

by implementing your recommendation, after doing that, i updated jellyfin to the newest version and reinstalled Xtream.

Now, i can't even tell if the issue is fixed, since adding xtream data, simply fails to fetch any data.
important to note that it fetched the data just fine before updating.

Software stack
Plugin version: Newest 0.7.1
Server version: newest 10.10.6

This sounds like you broke your networking in some way. What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

This sounds like you broke your networking in some way. What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

What you recommended on my previous post with the last setting in network settings, adding the all=domain.

The server works perfectly fine networking wise and through the web in all countries and configurations. Using the vanilla iptv option i can make the official free iptv package (which is trash quality) work perfectly fine. It is only when using paid iptv services and since using your xtream plugin, everything has stopped working and gotten progressively worse.
Interestingly after reinstalling and even while xtream plugin was disabled for a time, all the iptv movies it has saved to the library remains, which means i have 80k movies in the library that cannot be watched, since they have no source, only meta data.

This here is one of the more recent error logs of trying to use xtream, never had this issue before, until after reinstalling and updating.
[http @ 000000000986c280] HTTP error 404 Not Found [in#0 @ 0000000005c28740] Error opening input: Server returned 404 Not Found Error opening input file http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/series/xtreamname/xtreampassword/2683144.mp4. (X'ed out IP is not related to the server jellyfin is on and isn't the http to the iptv, very strange) Error opening input files: Server returned 404 Not Found

Please use some cli tool like CURL to see what your provider is responding to your requests. It sounds as if it is redirecting to a server which is not hosting the files. From the initially shared logs and these messages I highly suspect a problem with your provider and (old) cached items in your library.

I will try tomorrow :) I also found after updating jellyfin, my antivirus often blocks xtream because it's "transmitting unprotected passwords", i'm trying to figure out how to exempt it, i already added a freepass for the iptv link, yet it still tries to block it..

I did alot of tinkering to ensure connection wasn't blocked and the right network path was taken.
Result, xtream is once again communicating with iptv provider, film and channels are being synced! HOWEVER:
Now when i try to watch movies i still get a fatal player error, except the information in the error log is atleast correct.

Also for live channels, how can i change which programs show up as "showing now" since it seems to just randomly select 9 channels.
And how to i make channels appear in "film, Sport, Children, News" I already added the tags to the metadata on a bunch of channels :) But i don't know if it works differently with xtream.

I've confirmed that the files are in fact in those locations and can play them just fine using any other iptv player.

Unfortunately, there is not much I can do if your provider decides to respond with a HTTP 404. Perhaps #159 could help you if the provider decided to falsely give a 404 back if it did now allow your user agent.

This is something Jellyfin selects, I have no idea how and how you could influence this. Consider asking it in the upstream troubleshooting channel.

This is currently not implemented, see #11

@Kevinjil what needs to be done to make channels appear in the "film, Sport, Children, News" sections ?

the ui on the web client is different from the ui on the android client, on the android client, sections are easier to trim down the list of channels
